What happened to the summer?

Not been doing much, weather's been terrible, raining most days and it completely destroys my motivation. No spinning either due to Riccardo's departure, so in a bit of an an exercise desert.

Finally got my first & main order from GypzyBikes - it had been sitting for 2 weeks in Eumetsat goods-in. Replaced my broken spoke and realized I'd done something very stupid - I'd used a spot of superglue to hold the nipple on the screwdriver whilst poking it through the deep section rim - dohh! Of course this got in the threads and made it impossible to tighten or remove the spoke. Now know better and threaded it onto a piece of wire to avoid losing it in the rim. Rich's idea is even better - screw it onto the end of a spare spoke and poke it through the rim.

Great results for everybody (except me 'cos I wasn't interested and had Robbie with me anyway) at the ???? mtb marathon. Josie & Brendan came 1st and 3rd on the short circuit, and Pepe got 2nd on the mid circuit and Rich suffered on the long. V muddy course after all the rain.

Off to Les Gets on Friday eve, weather forecast is good, hopefully it'll hold.
